As of this writing, it is March 11. The new moon at its peak was actually yesterday, March 10. We are still in Pisces season. Yesterday was the 10th day of the month, and today is the 11th. If you’re into either astrology or numerology, you can apply those however you wish. Personally, I find significance in both the numbers 10 and 11. I’d also like to mention that I am a Scorpio and my spirit guides told me that this reading is meant more for Scorpios than for anyone else. However, I pray that whoever reads this finds significance in it.
So, this spread is a past-present-future spread. The first column is the past, the second is the present, and the third is the future. The future is not set in stone, but it does give an idea of what some of the possibilities are.
I pulled a few cards tonight in honor of the new moon tonight and the fact that today is the ninth day of the month. New moons are great for setting intentions because the new moon is the beginning of a new moon cycle. The number 9 is often looked at as a number of completion, but not in the sense of everything being final. Nine is considered by many to be the end of a cycle, which leads the beginning of something totally new. Consider how the average pregnancy lasts for around nine months. At the end of a full-term pregnancy, a new life is brought into the world.
This spread is just a general reading of the energy around this new moon. The ultimate energy is the card in the center, which is the Queen of Swords. I love her because the Queen of Swords cuts through the bull$hit. All of the cards surrounding her tell a story of being heartbroken, tired, and going through tough times. However, the card to the bottom left of the Queen of Swords is the Eight of Swords.
This isn’t exactly a reading, but a little glimpse into what my conversations with my spirit people are like sometimes.
Most of the time I talk to them using my pendulum and board. Lately, however, I’ve been trying to go back to basics and use tarot cards to communicate with them. For the way that me and my folks communicate, I find the pendulum to be the most efficient because they can literally spell out what they want to say. I’ll go into more detail about that another day.
I actually did two spreads, but one spread spoke to me more than the other, so I’m sharing that one. This reading is meant for whoever it is meant for. Nothing is set in stone. This is just a perspective on what 2024 could be.
There are three columns of cards in this picture. The first column represents what 2023 was. The middle column represents the state that the querent is currently in. The third column represents what 2024 is likely to hold.
If you find any significance in crystals, you’ll notice I have a few at the bottom of the picture. I always keep these crystals on my desk, but I thought they would make a good addition to the reading. The first crystal underneath the first column is lapis lazuli. The crystal in the middle column is rose quartz. The third crystal is amethyst.
First Column: What 2023 Was
I won’t lie. I thought it was just me who had a tough year. It seemed like not a whole lot was going right, no matter how hard I tried. It turns out, a lot of folks felt that way. I remember starting 2023 thinking that it wasn’t going to be a great year—not because I wasn’t optimistic, but because something in my spirit just told me it wouldn’t be.
I decided to pull a few cards today to get an idea of what my spiritual team sees for my next year of life, even though I could’ve asked them directly. It’s fun to use the cards sometimes.
The overarching message I’m receiving from these cards is that this year is my year. I’ve been getting to know my spirit people a lot better these last couple of months and they have been working overtime to prove to me that they are who they say they are and that they are legit. They’ve been amazing. I am able to see them and experience them now in ways that I couldn’t before. It’s been a rollercoaster, but I’m glad I have the chance to ride it.
I have a couple of decks where the Page is called the Princess. I think that definitely makes it clear that this card refers to youth, youthful energy, or new beginnings or ideas.

“Teamwork makes the dream work!”
Overall, this is a very positive card that instills a feeling of reassurance in me that lets me know that everything will be okay. If you’ve read my other posts, you’ll know that I don’t deal much with reversals and that the overall tone of the reading determines how I interpret the cards as opposed to which cards are upside down.
My interpretation:
I love this card because, on a personal level, I feel like it is my ancestors and spirit guides speaking to me and telling me to work with them. I’ve been on this spiritual journey for many years at this point, and I probably have the most direct connection with now that I’ve ever had. Having said that, sometimes it is still a little hard to look past what is right in front of my face and be trusting.
If you’re going to do this spiritual stuff, you have to be a little delusional. I mean, you have to be able to disregard reality to a certain degree. Even if your bank account is in the negative and your electricity bill is due in less than a week, you have to trust that God/the Universe/Most High, etc, and your spirit guides have your back and will take care of you. That prayer that you prayed for that miracle was heard. Maybe somebody will gift you what you need. Maybe an opportunity to earn what you need will appear. I’ve had all types of opportunities come to me once I was able to distract myself from distressing situations and find ways to calm myself down.
On a less metaphysical level, this card is about actual teamwork.
Careerwise, you may be part of a team or may need to seek guidance or assistance from a helpful party in order to accomplish your goals.
In relationships, I feel that this is a positive card because it shows people working together for a common cause. You and your partner or potential partner are a good match.
The Crystal of the Day
I actually chose the Tiger’s Eye before I pulled the card and I feel that the card matches the Tiger’s Eye. I’m far from a crystal expert, so I am sharing what I am learning along the way. The Tiger’s Eye is a protective stone with lots of powerful energy. It helps build courage, break through blockages, and move past insecurities, which can all lead towards attracting wealth and prosperity. I know I have seen Tiger’s eye in almost every chakra bracelet and necklace I’ve encountered and that it is a good stone to have in your healing/balancing arsenal. Tiger’s eye or the Eye of the Tiger, like the song, is a symbol or representation of fierceness, determination, and success.

A couple of months ago I made a post about Lenormand cards and exploring the deck. I’ve been doing Lenormand readings, but I haven’t been updating the blog with them. What’s really been going on is I’ve been going through something like a spiritual boot camp. I’ve prayed for more help embracing my spiritual gifts and I have received that help. Tonight I decided to do a tarot reading on myself because it is 5/5 and it’s a full moon tonight. After a quick prayer and shuffle of the cards, these cards literally jumped out of the deck.

I’ve been especially keeping my immediate family that’s crossed over close to me. I have always burned candles but lately I’ve been into incense and have even delved a little into crystals. I’ve been in my spiritual bag. I go through periods when I become disconnected and my life seemingly falls into shambles but it eventually comes back together once I start communing with the Spirit again. The first two cards hit home because I’ve been working on tapping into my magick and ability to manifest. The last two cards hit home a little too hard because it was literally yesterday that I was sitting in my car contemplating past relationships and why they ended the way that they did. I was wondering what those situations said about me as a person. The message I get from these cards is all about self-love. The time I take for myself spiritually is going to do nothing but help me to care for myself as a whole.

A few words to describe this card: Stability, leadership, decisions, discipline
My interpretation:
This card comes along when it is time to take charge and make some decisions. From a personal perspective, I have been working hard on building my businesses and maintaining my home. I am at a place where things are getting a little tough, but the trend has generally been upwards. I still have a long way to go to reach the place I’d like to be and now is the time I need to make some changes in order to get there. What I was doing with my budget is no longer going to work because my primary focus was on making sure I had enough to cover the most important things. Now, in order for me to be able to cover everything my family needs and have extra, I have to change my budget strategy, my income-earning strategy, and my business strategy. I know it still won’t be easy, but as the Emperor/Leader of my life, my home, and my business, it is up to me to do what needs to be done. This is the time to accomplish goals by employing strategy, skill, and intellect.
If this card comes up and overall vibe of the reading feels negative or low, then it means that the Emperor may not be feeling like the leader that they are which can lead to aloofness and indecisiveness. In the words of Mufasa from The Lion King, “Remember who you are.”
